Black2003SS Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 So my fiance and I got a digital camera finally. I had a Canon powershot 3.4MP about 5-yrs ago when they first came out and loved. It broke during a drop about 2yrs ago, out of warranty of course. I picked up a Sony handycam DVD camcorder and that was fun, but it only had a 1MP camera for photos on it and everytime I wanted to download photos from it, I had to finalize the disk and couldnt reuse them again. Oh well. It took pretty good video again, but I will never get a DVD cam or recommend one to anyone, they are too time consuming and troublesome to transfer photos/videos and use. Ok, so now we have a brand new Canon Powershot SD880 IS digital Elph 10MP camera. And yes, I went phot crazy. Taking about a 1,000 photos of meaningless and fun stuff. Still alot to learn, but I love the all of the features on it like B&W, color swapping, color accenting, etc. So here are some photos in the following posts. Downtown Rochester, MI on 12/13/08 Silverado SS at Torch Lake (near Traverse City, MI) on 12/27/08 - Loved the fog effect on the lake from the warming weather. Rapid River that Flows into Torch River, south of Torch Lake. Shot was rushed due to approaching traffic and nowhere to pull off the road... Fog on the road home... Quote

Black2003SS Posted December 31, 2008 Author Report Posted December 31, 2008 I had a Ricoh SLR years and years ago that was based on a K frame. I thought about getting a digital SLR, but I wanted something that fit in my pocket this time. Plus this was about a 1/3 of the cost of a good digital SLR. Quote

Cool..we have a 7mp point and shoot Sony Cybershot..nice little camera but I REALLY wanted a Digital SLR to get back into photography and to replace my old K1000,when i found out my lenses would fit...had to go for it..besides my Christmas $ would more than cover the cost!! I can't wait for it to get here!! I go to ALOT of races and the 200 mm zoom with 2X converter will do the trick just fine!! Quote
