you would need to remove the front axle, front drive shaft, rear drive shaft, and transfer case first, then a new rear drive shaft would have to be fabricated.....

Could i just leave the transfer case and just let the shaft spin. So i gain all the hp to the rear and that way i could put it back to awd in the winter.

Only if you don't like your truck.

No you cannot do that.....driving on the street without a front drive shaft will destroy the viscous clutches in your transfer case.....

it also takes $$$ to replace the tires after you burn them up in bad weather or just having too much fun!!my thought is GM designed the truck that way for a reason. i wish i even could have found or can afford an SS!!!

It will ruin the transfer case. It is designed to run both front and rear driveshafts that is why there is no lever or switch to run 2wd. Also your truck will not have anymore HP by being 2wd.

You dont think it take more hp to pull all four?

no, with RWD 100% of your power goes to the rear wheels, with AWD the transfer case splits the power to 38% front and 62% rear I believe.....

If your asking if the truck would be faster...yes it will produce more power to the ground and also have less mass to rotate. therefore making the vehicle not only faster but lighter.
