Vortec MAX
Don't laugh guys some of those Prius owners feel they are driving hot rods. They are kind of quick from a dead stop compared to regular cars. On the way to work at 5:30 AM I had this pesky little mother slice and dice through traffic one morning, cutting people off like crazy until we finally got to the two lane freeway on ramp. I caught up to him and lit the supercharger in the cold morning air and went sideways power-sliding back and forth as I passed him and beat him onto the freeway. I felt like I just beat up on a kid, but fug the little bastard, someone had to show him he wasn't driving shit. LOL. I drive a Prius as my DD. They are NOT fast! But damn they go a long way on a gallon. I raced a Honda Civic with a fart can muffler yesterday. I beat him with my Prius. I can't think of anything that would hurt a young man's pride more than that. And to add insult to injury, he had a buddy with him to witness it. I am still chuckling about it. I drove a Prius as a loaner once when my wife's car was in the shop and it was weird. I kept thinking the engine died at stop lights. When I need good mileage I ride my motorcycles. My commute bike that gets 45-54 mpg: My weekend warrior that gets 30-40 mpg:
Vortec MAX
I drove a Prius as a loaner once when my wife's car was in the shop and it was weird. I kept thinking the engine died at stop lights. That is because the engine does shut off at the lights. It also shuts off every time you coast or apply the brakes. It only runs when acceleration is needed, or when you are cruising at a higher speed. It will use electric for short distances at low speeds and cruising around parking lots, etc. When I need good mileage I ride my motorcycles. My commute bike that gets 45-54 mpg: I ride my MC to work in the summer, but believe it or not, my Prius gets better mileage than my MC. I only get 37 MPG with my bike where I can get 50 in town with the Prius. But my Prius won't rip 10 second quarters all day long like the bike will. It will go 0-60 in 10 seconds though.
