PastorJon
Hey guys as I've said before I'm not real mechanically inclined, I've been noticing the guys with 408 motors ? And was wondering if this is a crate motor? Or is like making a 350 into a 383 buy changing out the stock crank to a 400 crank? So our motors are 364 "I think" what kind of crank would you use to make it a 408 ? Or am I not on the right track here ? Thanks in advance for the info.... Krambo
Take your stock 6.0L (364cid) and give it a 4 inch stroke crank (vs. the stocker at 3.62x), give it a 4.030" bore and you got your motor. The 0.030" overbore isn't much of a power increase however it is some. Are you asking if the 408 is a crate motor from GM or a "crate motor" in general terms? PastorJon
Are you asking if the 408 is a crate motor from GM or a "crate motor" in general terms? Just if it was a crate motor in general.... I figured you could make a 408 with a different crank and bore...but wasn't sure if guys were just buying the motor already built..
