max252
A friend of mine wants to swap his 5.3l in his 2002 silverado, with a 6.0l LQ9. What needs to be changed? Will his harness work? Thanks
Krambo
As far as I know, all the sensors should bolt right up (someone correct me here). You will need a new tune of course.

Thanks The longblock will swap right in, he can re-use his old harness, pcm, and accessories. He should also use his old flywheel so it will bolt up to his trans w/o problem. Easiest to re-use his old intake, fuel rails, etc. All that he will need done is PCM tuning which can be done by one of the sponsors here like BlackBear or Wheatley
Quik
LQ9 uses same FLEXPLATE as a LM7. I did this swap years ago. install it with all your current components and get a tune for the 6.
