BigCountry
like the title says... 16" stockers, will they work on the front of an 06 SSS? I know the rotors are a little bigger on the 2WD trucks.
mike1booth
no i had 16's on my 05 and the brakes were almost hitting, and on 06's have bigger front rotors.. 06 1500's come with 17" steelies insted of 16's like previous years
juriha
16" rims off of a 1992 Sierra wouldn't fit my 03 SSS, you could get them on but the brakes would rub...dont know if that helps ya.
gixxerrider
No 16s will not be there
12'SROCK
they will fit but on the rears ONLY
BigCountry
Guess I should have waited on some answers before I bought some... As stated, it's a no go. Figured a little gringing may be in order, but not this much. I've seen some D60s ground enough to fit 15's and it's pretty simiilar, but not sure if it's worth it just for the track... may just use the rears, anyone want a pair of track wheels, lol. Here's the caliper marked up to show how much meat would need to be shaved.
BigCountry
Common practice in the offroad community to do this to a D60 to run 15's
NTMD8R_SS
Why not just run 16's in the rear and 20's out front in the track? You dont need 16's up front.....
BigCountry
I had them so I was just gonna run some narrow 28" tall tires on the front a lighten the load a little. Thought it would look better than 32" tires up front and 28's in the back.
