chpspecial Posted June 10, 2009 Report Share Posted June 10, 2009 How is your mechanic figuring out that your chain is stretched??? If he did it with the transfer case opened and is telling youthat you have a stretched chain you need a new mechanic. with the case open the alligning pins fall in causing the chain to loose its tension. therefore the chain will touch itself. the only proper way of determining if the chain strethced is with a torque wrench, and the TC in the vehicle.
