pursuit2550
I went to the track today for the first time with the maggie. I am not to happy . Originally the truck w/o the maggie ran of 9.617. Today it ran a best of 9.261. Condition where nearlly identical. I think it should have ran better considering the fact that I install a maggie and LT's. The truck is running rich, so rich that i can smell it and every once in awhile it throws a bank 1&2 rich code. Can you guys give me some reasons and what you think it should be running. The temp was 85, truck had 1/4 tank, last time it had 3/4 tank. One good thing was I ran a Challanger twice and it ran a 9.131 and 9.277 and it had the 6.1. Beat it once atleast. ImpalaSSpeed96
It looks to be about mid 14s down the 1/4. Any idea what the DA was?
Black2003SS
I run an 8.3-8.4 1/8th mile, but I also have a converter and AWD. I would think you should be under a 9.0 1/8th mile. However, I think we should have more data. Can you post the full time slips for comparison or at least post the numbers? Comparing traps and 60ft could help trouble shoot areas. Being 2WD, you could be losing traction or like you said, you could be running too rich.
pursuit2550
My 60 ft did change from before. With or without maggie around 2-2.2. MPH stayed the same also 73-75. What do you mean by DA. This is my second time to the track so I have no idea of that term. fxstsmith
http://www.jtsvp.com/HP_Calculator.html http://wahiduddin.net/calc/calc_da.htm I used to have one booked marked (Can't find it) but all you had to do was put in the track name and date and would give you the DA for for that track and gave multiple times. brobradh77
what size pulley are you running? even with the stock pulley IMO you should be 8's..you dont have a cam but mid 8's i feel should be attainable.....You need to log it and see what your IAT's are etc... that will help Justin see if there is a tuning tweak needed. pursuit2550
I am running the stock 3.3 pulley. I already talked to Justin and we are going to do a cable tune. I sure hope that I drops into the 8. I am also adding a 2nd heat exchanger
ImpalaSSpeed96
Regardless, the MPH should have went up. That DA isn't good, but its not horrible either... I would venture to say something is just a little off on your tune... Make sure major timing isn't being pulled. Somethin is off though, you oughta be movin out a little better than what you are. pursuit2550
One thing I did notice was that on my last 3 back to back runs is when I got down to the 9.2. In other words I ran 9.3 one the first and then 9.2 and then the lower 9.2. 'Kind of strange that with the truck running back to back it got better. I woulld think it would run leting sit in between runs to cool the maggie down.
