SSThunder
After all the fun I had in removing the driver side front hub to replace 2 messed up wheel studs, now I'm hearing a little noise. It almost sounds like a rubbing when applying the brakes but it's a little different. It sounds like a high pitch(metal to metal) dinging. It's hard to describe the sound. The front axle bolt was pretty hard to remove so I'm hoping I didn't messed something up. before using Mrp's method, I beat the crap out of my socket wrench using my 5 lbs hammer. Also my dumb ass put the axle bolt on backwards so hopefully that didn't cause problems(I was in a hurry and it was late). anyway what do you guys think is causing the noise? It mostly pops up at slow speed when I apply the brakes but it does happen at slow speeds when I'm just driving. Also when I removed the front hub, I noticed a chalky red like powerder in the hub area. removing the front hub was a PITA so I'm hoping to avoide that. I am going to remove the brake caliper again and check that area though. But I'm pretty much 100% sure that isn't the problem. It doesn't sound like the pad is rubbing. Is is possible I knocked something off center when I was beating on the axle nut with the 5 lbs hammer?
Fireman31
sounds like a bad wheel bearing to me
RacerJJ
Hmmm, intersting. I found removing and replacing the front hubs incredibly easy. Time consuming but easy nonetheless.

Yeah if you use the correct method. I didn't see MrP method till after I beat the crap out of a socket wrench with my 5 lbs hammer lol. Anybody know how hard is it to replace a bad wheel bearing? If that's my problem I was wondering if I could do the job myself. Hell I've already had the driver side front hub apart

SSThunder
the wheel bearing is the hub.... Sorry but I'm not a very technical guy. So my hub needs replacing them? That's not hard to do. I just figure there are some bearings in the hub or on the axles. Anybody know fo sure lol?
