Jim Coher
I have a nerve racking squeaky rubbing noise in the steering column. It seems to be coming from the area where it goes thru the boot on the fire wall. I've tries spraying it from the inside and outside with fluid film and wd-40 but nothing seems to work. Anyone else ever had this problem? Thanks for any input.

The odd thing was that it only happened when I had my turn signal on, and when making a right turn. So I finally figured out that the turn signal lever was rubbing against something when I pushed it up to make a right turn. I was able to press it down just a little to avoid the noise for now, but I'll be taking it apart sooner or later to try to get the bottom of the noise.
