funceca88
no no no no no no, i was triyng to save on gas, because it was up to 3.01$ for the premium, and i have to save money for my upcoming court date, i mean shes not overheating, she runs like i said a little better i think, and the superships includes a limited auto warranty, should i switch back? Wheatley
I would not put 87 octane in your tank. The LQ9 has 10.1:1 compression and even the dealer recommends 91 or higher
F1SSS
You could run some octane booster with the 87, in the end 91 is cheaper. Im always 93.
Wheatley
The octane booster you find at part store is really junk.If it say it increases the octane 7 points,do not be fooled. That is .7 points which is not even 1 full octane point!! 12'SROCK
if you want get gas mileage then your shouldnt have baught the SSS...
brobradh77
87 octane will just make you fill your tank more than premium..you get better performance and economy with premium.

EXACTLY! Read the label on the back...its an eye opener! You would be better dumping a quart of methanol in your tank at fill up.
0360z71
With my 6.o it was cheaper to fill up with 87 but when we got the tune for 93 i notice that 93 cost more but went way longer.
Fireman31
Running low octane fuel = knock/ping/detonation = poor fuel economy and less power knock/ping/detonation can destroy your engine over time GM recommends running 91 or higher octane for a reason, running 87 octane will save you $0.00 because your truck will not be as efficient.......
