SSplaytoy
When I used to rebuild Cats, Cummins, and Detroit diesels, I would pull the head(s), drop the pan, and put in new pistons, liners, bearing, etc... Since I currently do not have a picker or stand and don't really have the extra cash to buy them, could I do the same in the SS? I am thinking I can if I have to replace the pistons or rings. And I can do all the bearings at the same time. If I dropped the front diff, this should be possible right? Wonder if any of you have tried this or something similar. Merc Dr.
You can rent a picker at most rental places. Probably $25 or so. Rent it once to remove and once to reinstall. Know anyone with a bobcat? Minin forklift?
