Motor Build With The Twins

JSTAL

Recommended Posts

Ok well i pulled the heads off and we couldnt find anything wrong with the gasket or motor. Honestly i dont understand what happened. So my wife says to me "why dont you just build a motor while its all torn down"? Of course what man will argue that soooooo... i went to the local perfromance shop where my buddy Brett builds very fast F-bodies. I told him my goals and desires for the truck and this is what im gonna build.

370ci Iron block

-Wiseco dished 370 Pistons w/ rings

-Eagle Forged H-Beam rods w/ ARP rod bolts

-Clevite 77 Hardened Race series Cam Bearings

-Clevite 77 Hardened Race series Rod Bearings

-Clevite 77 Hardened Race series Main bearings

-Comp Sprayed99 grind cam (still undecided about changing cams)

-Arp head stud kit

-TSP 2.5 6.0 heads

-Cometic MLS head gaskets .051 thick

-misc gaskets

-machine work balancing and long block assembled

AFA texas speed is concerned i dont care for them but this guy gets a discount and fowarded the savings to me. TSP will NOT be assembling the motor.

Brett is a know builder and has some fast cars running around and he is honest

long block is gonna cost me 5100 bucks including everthing

Next week when i get home from work im pulling the block out and getting this ball rolling

Sounds good. Any reason you dont want to go bigger?

bigger doesnt alway mean better with turbos. I think i can make close to the same power with a little more boost on a smaller 370 than a 402
