They really do work! and not just alittle If its throwing out black smoke, then it's not tuned at all, or very poorly. All that black is unburnt fuel... shows more of the power you lost rather then have.. and for how much fuel you are buying, but not even using. But, if you are referring to professional pulling trucks/tractors that bellow black smoke at idle... you will notice that the black smoke stops once they start their pull and enter their power band.
