1skss Posted March 2, 2010 Report Share Posted March 2, 2010 i have a 95 gmc sierra as my dd bought a red top for it back when i got the truck 5yrs ago and its still pushing strong,who knows maybe it is the alt!!! i also have a yellow top on my 05 sss which has a lil over 60k on it and no problems. This drain just started out of no where - with a autozone battery that tested bad so I replaced it with a red top. I'm now on my second red top - The battery is def NOT the issue. As described by Mr. P. ........ .....About the only way to trace this is to catch the vehicle in the act, have a VOM measuring current draw from the battery and pull fuses until the draw goes away........
