Tylur06SS Posted March 5, 2010 Report Share Posted March 5, 2010 finally! i talked to the bank today and my parents about it, im getting an SS finally! im waiting on the bank i should know by tuesday. its an 03' with 100,000 miles on it, and it does have scratches on it but idc! thats what body shops r for. the guy is in texas 12 hours away but he says he's gunna meet me halfway so hopefully next sunday me n my stepdad will be going to pick it up. as long as it doesnt have any dents im gunna get it i will post pics as soon as i get it! 8 UR HMI Posted March 6, 2010 Report Share Posted March 6, 2010 congrats. just so u know, buying a truck with that many miles on it used there are a few things ur gonna need to look at. 1. transmission- it will and i mean WILL go out with almost every gm truck at around 100k 2. front differential- same thing as well 3. power steering pump, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, oil coolant lines etc... just from the amount of time and miles on it. hope u didnt pay over 12 for it but once again congrats!!! 8 UR HMI Posted March 9, 2010 Report Share Posted March 9, 2010 Show me something at 100k that doesn't need some reconditioning hahaha true that. on the clock i have 118,000 miles. since its hit 100k this is what IVE had to replace/fix/destroy/ yell at/ kick and scream... lol 1. front diff and rear end BOTH rebuilt 2. transmission (fully built) 3. power steering pump 4. alternator 5. fuel pump/pumps 6. fuel pressure regulator 7. intake manifold gaskets 8. plugs/wires 9. idler pulley, belt tensioner both acc and drivetrain 10. vacuum lines 11. battery 12. o2 sensors 13. header gaskets (duhhh ) 14. window seals ( both back ones) 15. cam and springs (my choice ) 16. OIL PUMP (that was a bitch) 17. maf sensor (got another factory one) 18. oil coolant lines (which i havent replaced but one is kinda leaking a tad) yea a LOT of shit has happened to my pos lol. Tylur06SS Posted March 11, 2010 Author Report Share Posted March 11, 2010 i backed out guys... parents suggested i buy my step dads best friends 05 Z71. so im goin to do that round the end of the month.. its alot closer i didnt want to get all the way out to texas and go home empty handed cuz sumthin was wrong with the truck, but if anyone is intersted i was only paying $9500 for it.
