Baseline Stock Performance

Hey took my cherry 16,000 mile SS to the track to see what it will do stock before tune.

Went 15.34 in quarter with 2.20 60ft at 88.73 mph after sleeping at the tree for .3998

I want to go to the pittsburgh Blackbear tune 4/18/10

This truck shifts fast and crisp (about 5400) stock in drive on the street.

1)Why does it lag when manually shifting about 5700-5800 rpm?

1st to 2nd good lag and 2nd to 3rd longer lag.

2) Will the tune let it shift from drive @ 5700-6000?

3) will the tune let me manually shift without the lag?

4) what else will the tune do for my truck/times/shifting?

5) whats with the second tune for the tow/haul mode? Need info

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

A tune can do what ever you want. if your tuner says a 6000 rpm shift point is what you need it will shift at 6000 when you go wide open and then probably 5900 for 2nd-3rd. When your tuned the truck will shift at the best point for your mods so don't shift it manually. Just put it in 3rd and hit the gas. The tune will help a lot even on a stock truck, i dropped .5 in the quarter with just a tune, and this was tested by 2 diff tuners and both got me .5 less. They will also change your trans settings for shift points, shift speed, and shift firmness. Like a electronic shift kit. I think the tow haul can change shift points and TM only, so it would be a "track setting" so to speak.

good run at 15.3, your right in the ball park!

Got my tune today and all I can say is wow!!! You won't be disappointed.

My truck only had a CAI and I took the tailgate, trailer hitch and spare off and ran a 14.8 back in 08 at LVD in NY..

As far as the tow haul. Yes thats consider your Track mode. But after I dropped my buddy off I drove home with it on and WOW holy crap..
