idahoBLKss
I have a 4L80E in my truck. What is so special about it I mean I love it, it's one hell of a trans. But compared to the sss 4L60E why does everyone want an 80E??? the 80e has a way bigger shafts , bigger oil pan if i remember right, and an extra clutch pack too if i was told right... over all its a beefed up 65 or what the 65 should of been maybe with smaller gears thou. smoothdime
i thought the 4l80e was essentially a TH400 with overdrive. Thats why it was only put behind the bigger engines and trucks much like the th400 was back in the day. So its the same upgrading to the 4l80e from 4l60e as we used to do with the th350 and th400. but if you arent making tons of power those bigger internals will cost you some rwhp. later. gary
