jrigby
I am already an owner of a 2008 cobalt ss, but I am trading it in for a silverado ss. Before you knock the cobalt, it's turbocharged with the gm upgrade kit. Putting down about 320 wheel torque and 300 wheel hp on 21psi. Can run low 13's, the downside is I park it for the winter. So I'm tired of seeing it go away for the winter. I found a nice 2003 silverado SS arrival blue in color. I really like the looks of it. However it's pushing 140k miles. I test drove it and rodded it around. no binding in the turns or funny shifts in the transmission. Oil cooler lines are leaking a little but nothing major. The big thing to me is the price is right. looking at full trade in value, and they are asking 13k for the truck. Anything I should be aware of? I've replace an engine before, and have access to a lift if the transmission fails or transfercase. Just hoping it won't be too big of a money pit is all. Ohh and I am surprised I've seen a few other members from Montana on here? ever do any meets?
RickRolled
Hey man i think you should do alittle more research first and find one with lower miles 14 for 140k is way to much i was gonna buy one is Sioux city with 81k for 14 before i found mine in rapid city. Its prolly worth it to find one for like 4k more with less miles then deal with all the stuff goin out on ur truck real soon check bozeman or billings i know they got a silverado ss at some dealers. BlueAKSSS
Welcome to the site, price is ok for the mileage but you may be able to do better. Mines pushing those miles and still going strong!
jrigby
Well I am trading in 2 vehicles and everywhere else has offered me about 3k less in trade so I guess that helps justify the high miles and average price to me. NADA book is 14500, also this one is at the end of my expense limit . I also have access to a shop with a lift, so if the tranny drops or something else I can replace it with out too much of a worry.
