87sheerips
hey guys, I'm about to be a new 2003 SS owner... I drag race Banshees and it would be nice to get my truck and bike out there in silver lake sand dunes. With AWD and stock height, do u guys see this as being a problem? Please let me know your thoughts/experiences. Thanks!
ces63ss
all on how soft the sand is there. I go to Glamis and Pismo beach here in Socal. Tires need to be air down and pick your lines. I have tossed the idea of getting some steel rims and throwing some AT tires that would help the traction,

rojo_143
+1 to the michigan SS club we really need to setup a meet somewhere so I can put faces to names. The SS will do just fin in the dunes. Alot like driving in the snow and they kick ass in the snow like said above just pick your lines and stay out of the soft stuff and you will be fine. 87sheerips
Awesome to hear such great responses.. I have ATs with the truck but I think if I air down the 20's Ill be fine eh?
fox_forma
I never had any issues in the dunes out my way, gordons, glamis, buttercup etc. It would prob be best you use a tire/rim set-up like the spare is cause the wide 20's aren't the best. As long as you keep going and don't stop is the really soft stuff you will be fine. I pulled a 20ft flatbed trailer back to comp hill with no issues the one time.
