I have not posted here in quite awhile but some issues with my truck have lead me to begin the process of selling it and I have a question or two. About a year ago, I went to Carmax to see what they would give me for it. They told me that I did not have cats on it, which I did, and I left totally pissed off. So this time around I figured I would take it to my exhaust guy and have him write something saying that it does have cats. But in the process of writing it for me, he tells me that they will most likely not take it b/c it has longtubes and aftermarket cats. He was saying that that set up is technically illegal for street use and they cannot buy it (nor can any dealer). So I am a bit confused, I have passed inspection and have had no issues with the cats or headers ever. I have had other dealers appraise it and offer me trade in for it. So I am just wondering if what he said is true or if he was just being paranoid about the whole thing. Also, would ABS issues prevent Carmax from giving me an offer? Thanks in advance for any replies. Sucks that I came back to the forum on such sad circumstances but, I'm getting to be a poorer and poorer college kid and can't keep the truck like it should be.
