LStoSSSilverado
I was wondering if anyone could tell me where i can purchase a set of these spectacular SS rims. I'm going to convert my 2002 LS Silverado to an SS type w/ the rims, front end but w/ a supercharger. Will the dealer stock them for the public or will I have to search elsewhere? Time is not important, but i'd like to get them ASAP. Also, are the SS rims 5 or 6 lug? thanks
rallywheels
all GM '99-up full-size (excluding the leftover Chevrolet K1500's and GMC Sierra Classics that sold for an extra year) trucks are of the 6-bolt pattern (1/2 tons at least). i've seen a few sets of the SS's rims for sale on e-bay complete with the tires and everything. as far as your conversion goes, dont forget that the 20" rims are heavier and will reduce your effective axle ratio, probably slowing you down slightly. although, no doubt that they do look great. TECSTAR buys the rims and tires. They mount them and then ship to the Plant in sets. We then balance them and put them in the system for each vehicle. I don't know if you would be able to buy them from GM or TECSTAR right now as they need every set they can get!

My 2002 Camaro SS came from the factory with weights on the outside, I then had them rebalanced with the weights on the inside. The Camaro I had before that had SLP chrome rims.....which SLP did a great job and put stick on weights on the inside.

SO YES WE PUT CLIP ON WEIGHTS ON THE OUTSIDE. SORRY

zippy
i do believe the gm dealers can order them, but your better off shopping around as some of the wheel companies should have them available chromed and cheaper than new gm soon.

Bob_the_builder
What's this about chrome SS rims? How do you get a set? Bob
dcairns
I wonder if the center caps will be interchangeable? I am looking at getting my wheels chromed and the center caps plastic chromed. I would be better to get the center caps chromed from the factory.
gshields
Hello Hamur, What are you telling us about the chrome ss rims? Is this an announcement? Could I get lucky with the delivery delay and get a set of chromes? If so, I'd be glad to wait another 30 minutes or so. Also make it an 04 model. Yes for the 2004 interim they are adding, as an option, chrome rims for the Silverado SS. Normal launch will July but in December they will add chrome rims!!! I haven't seen them but as soon as I do I will let you know.
b4z
What about a polished wheel option? I think the chromies might be a little much . Doesn't the SS regular cab prototype have polished rims?
