DevilDoug
I haven't found any threads about this, and I just want to make sure I'm not crazy. Bone stock truck I took to the track, ran consistent 15.2-15.3 while I was playing with different launch techniques. My last run for the hell of it I switched on tow/haul mode, and ran a 14.9! How in the hell is this possible? I did the same launch techniques as before. Does this mode really drop almost 4 tenths of a second in the quarter? I drive on the street every once in a while with this mode on I notice it keeps the truck in a lower gear longer to allow better acceleration, especially on the highway I understand it's better for towing heavy loads but could it really affect racing times? DevilDoug
The truck has a "performance" tune for everything stock. I do not know what the shift points are the truck hasnt been dynoed either so I wouldn't know what to set them at.
chpspecial
to answer your question, you need to ask your tunner. He will be the only one that will be able to asnwer those question. Otherwise it is just a guessing game
ss454327
Probably just cooler or less humid air. The night I ran my 13.82 my first two passes were 13.97 and 14.00 and then an hour later the DA went from +1500 or so to +600 and I ripped the 13.82.
