ChinoHillian
i have a 5 piece billet grille from t rex and the bottom three are in without the stock plastic pieces but on the front 2 by the bowtie, the stock pieces are stil there. anyway i can remove the stock ones and have the billet there by itself? it looks pretty gay with the plastic and billet laid on top of it. i'll have pictures up later on
misterp
Yes, you can remove the stock plastic grille inserts but the process is irreversible - you have to cut out the spots where the factory melted it to the grille shell. Hankg42
Another option is to paint the stock grille flat black. It still shows a little, but not as much. If you don't want to cut up the grille, that's another choice. Edit: BTW... That is what I did. misterp
if i was to cut out the stock grille, what should i use to not mess up the grille shell? is it a hard process? I have heard of guys using a torch to heat an old screwdriver or chisel, and using the hot iron to melt through the factory "rosettes" - take your grille out and eyeball the backside of it, you will see what I mean.
