I read somewhere that you have to actually cut the grille out in order to remove it, is this true? What would be my best approach? rojo_143 Posted September 23, 2010 Report Share Posted September 23, 2010 Look on the back side of the grille ( like trhough the hood latch area and see it may just be a bolt over style in this case you would be able to just unbolt it to remove it the you could paint it off of the truck and reinstall it when you are done. BG06SILVERADO Posted September 23, 2010 Report Share Posted September 23, 2010 With mine I removed the push pins on the cover where the latch is... then pull the head lights out... there is around five tabs to remove(kinda hard to explain) then the grille comes out to be painted.. SSmoothSilSS Posted September 25, 2010 Report Share Posted September 25, 2010 (edited) Nikki, GM did make a Chrome grille that you could order, I would go to the local dealer and see if they would do a search to see if there is any sitting on the shelf across the US.
