6.0 Awd Into Standard Cab, Short Bed Chassis?

since my 2003 was wrecked a couple years ago, its been sitting at my buddy's shop after we bought it from insurance. Im debating on picking up a 2005 5.3 standard cab/short bed truck this weekend and am curious what would be involved in bolting in the drivetrain from the SS. The shade tree mechanic in me thinks it'll just need a shorter driveshaft but im sure im wrong... any help would be appreciated.

Are you wanting to make the drivetrain AWD??? Then your new truck will need the "4x4 frame" which has torsion bar suspension, not coil springs in the front.

Mr. P.

i think if he has the complete undamaged suspension from the awd truck you might be able to swap it onto a 2wd chassis although im not 100% sure about that though

The front frame sections are different between the 2wd and the 4/AWD frames, so the front torsion bars will not be able to be used, as well as the front diff
