jm074282
Who knows a Lil about paint? I love metallic black but my sss is an everyday driver so I have decided to paint it and just go Satin black NOT Flat I hate the flat faded grey look!! But Satin I'm loving and I am set on it!! I just wanta buy the paint myself then hit up my Buddy that paints So that way It would be cheaper and me and him will do the prep together Do you guys have any recommendations on where to buy the paint and what is needed here is what I am trying to achieve! Expectation Iv done a Lil research and came across Hot Rod Black! But trying to get some feedback Edited January 6, 2011 by Super Sport Joe (see edit history)

misterp
I am not a paint/body man; however that said, I was under the impression that the black basecoat was the same but you use a 'satin' clearcoat instead of a gloss clearcoat. IMO use the black that comes on the Escalade (rather than Onyx Black) that way it will still look 'black' rather than 'brownish black'. Mr. P. BlueAKSSS
That 69' camaro sure looks cool in that paint, I wouldn't personally paint my truck that color but it would look cool I think. I think Mr. P is right about the satin clear coat.
