Baer Brake Question?

Recommended Posts

Awhile back I purchased Baer Alumasport front calipers from a member on here. The kit number is 4301038. I had contacted baer regarding what rotors and pads to use and they said LF Rotor 6910868 and RF Rotor 6920868 also pads D1058. My question is are there any other brands out there that will work with this application? Or are these the only rotors and pads that work? Also I got the item as a 2 piece caliper...is that all I need or is there another mounting bracket since they are larger? thanks in advance guys..just trying to get my brake system around to put on dbanana.gif

Those calipers are made by PBR, so if you do some sleuthing you should find some off-the-shelf pads that fit. Those calipers were factory issue C5 Corvette parts. I found that the pads from a 2000 C5 FRC fit my rear Alumasports, wasn't any cheaper though because those pads (EBC) at Oreilly Auto still cost $95/pr. I don't have any info on the fronts because I have the 6S kit up front, but I am willing to bet the same pads are used on the front Alumasport/PBR calipers.

Yeah my rotors were 222.50 a piece and pads were 98...btw anyone know where to get steel braided brake lines?

I'm running the Russell lines and think that they are much much better than the Earls (which I think are no longer produced). Here is a link to the ones that should be for your 2004.

I have the Earl's braided stainless steel brake lines, which have been fine. But I have also heard that they are no longer produced.
