nastyhabit
Nice truck up top ! These converters come recommended - anyone else want to help me decide? YANK it
Fireman31
Unless you are going with the PT series converter, i'd keep shopping. Many guys here have had problems with the TT series, and lost transmissions as a result...... Have you considered a PI or TCS converter? nastyhabit
All I've looked so far is circle D The vigilante here in classifieds would be nice but I was figuring 3000 or 3200 Will check those out you mentioned
Fireman31
Precision Industries, TCS(Torque Converter Shop), and Circle D are all definitely worth looking into......let us know what you decide on......

04CHASE
from a person that has had all of them . i was happy with the tcs from canada , not the az tcs. i did have an unrelated problem with the trans that clouded my judegment on the other az tcs so im sure it was a decent converter getting it to stall where i wanted behind my setup was a little tough but it worked. PI used to be the best but has gone down hill since . the pump hub on them isnt the strongest and they dont recomened spacing them . i had 3 pump hubs fail before i completely gave up on them. i now have a 4l80e , had a yank and it stalls way too loose and is the best yank they make. i know it can be tough making something stall the same from 500 lb tq @ 3-4krpm to 1000 tq @ 5-6k rpm but i just wasnt happy. I just got a circle D and will install this week but from looks and guarantee from the company i have no doubt this one will kick ass. Not to mention they dare you to break it and encourage wot lock ups behind big power . yank recomends the exact opposite.
nastyhabit
Thanks for the info guys - I have time to browse, but not much as I want the tranny and TC addressed before hitting the track. I'm itching to get back on track.... For a truck that will stay under 500hp do I really need to spend the extra for a higher qual model TC? The tranny itself is another question..... When you guys say to people "next thing you should do is upgrade the tranny" do you mean fully build or just do TC, servos and shift kit ( I have an HD-2 sitting here) Or do you mean drop 2 G's on a built tranny? (that may be tough this Spring after recent mods) Ughhhhh

NORCAL SS
ive done well over 35 stall converters on silverado ss's and no problems with yank. The new ptb series by far is the best for the truck. One customer with the ptb3600 went from 13.8 to a 13.23 with only converter change. Also i run the yank ptb3200 on my tvs2300 trailblazer ss and the yank ptb3600 on my wifes DAILY DRIVEN 11 second tbss. The converter is not loose at all and launches much better than the PI my friend runs on top of that the vig 3600 is loose where the ptb3600 is not. here are a few vids of the truck in action here are old vids 3600 stall intake tune 50 shot nitrous stock exhaust 11.9@112 http://www.youtube.com/blowntbss#p/a/u/0/J1TVotMBEHI 7.58@89 were old times 7.35@94 are new times Edited March 1, 2011 by NORCAL SS (see edit history)
Krambo
I would stay away from the TT series Yank. Killed mine in about 1,000 miles with 500RWHP. Thus far, my PI Vig has been doing quite well behind more than 500RWHP.
NORCAL SS
also the ptb is billet cover. Aso the ptb3600 is tighter than a vig 3200
04CHASE
you guys have to also consider what size the converter is . a 9.5 or 10.5 . that alone makes huge difference.
Fireman31
There are some questions you need to address......what are your goals for the truck? Is it your daily driver?
