Thinking About Getting A Sss

Hi Guys. I thought I would introduce myself since I have been browsing the board for a few days. My name is Mike. I am thinking about picking up an SSS. I would be buying it under my business and using it as a work truck. I do home electronics installs, such as custom home theaters. I have a van that I would have my brother drive, so not too much would see the bed of the truck, honestly. Occasionally, I would have to deliver a TV that is too tall to fit in the van, and the main reason I am looking for a truck. I will probably have to sell my car due to space issues, so I wanted something with a little more power to it. I have a Audi A6 2.7t that is chipped and has some decent power. So I am hoping the this truck serves my purpose. I think I would like to go with a black truck. It is definitely harder to keep clean, but my van is also black and I would like to keep things uniform for the business. I have found a couple things to look for, but thought I would ask for suggestions on things to look out for, and some common problems. Just from reading I can tell this is a pretty friendly board and I hopefully will get to know some of you.

Good choice! cheers.gifChevy_anim.gifWell the only really weak spot in these trucks are the trannys, so maybe beef it up a little but beware, the mod bug will bite... takealook.gif

I'm sure it will. I have to do a little research on what are the most beneficial mods. I still haven't decided on whether I will keep my car or not. If I do, it will offer the performance and maybe save me from pouring too much money into mods on the truck.

Thanks guys. I am pretty used to the kind of mileage I am seeing that most of you are getting. My van which is what I am typically driving these days gets about 14-15 mpg. I have had it go as high as 18 and as low as 10. My old van which was a E350 with a 5.8 used to get 8 mpg consistently. I do not want to get a truck with a V6. I definitely do not want 2wd. It has to be AWD or 4WD, so I believe I will be living with the kinda mileage I've been used to as most trucks will not be all that much better I mileage wise I believe.

1st welcome to the site. 2nd The 2wd(05-07) drive do get better gas mileage. The other ones only come in AWD(03-05). Adding a CAI and tune actually gave me more power and better gas mileage.
