hottelboy
Ok I'm doing the L92 swap and trans. so I've decided to pull the engine and trans to avoid cutting my exhaust, and clean everything up a bit. Here's the question what color combo? My truck is arrival blue, I have msd red wires, and red calipers(stock) so I'm thinking of going with White block and red accesories brackets? if I go white block I will powder coat the wheels white and lower the truck later on its not a dd so give me your opinions please. Ill be doing this within the next 2 days so lets get some ideas together.
shawnss
well over all its yours truck. but i wouldn't do white. i bought a car that had a build motor the guy i bought it from painted the block white. it only had 6k miles on the motor and it was so dirty i couldn't even see it was white. i think black a red would be sweet. im going with blue and black for my motor. no matter what make sure you post pics. ill getting all mine stuff powder coated. 04CHASE
that makes me think of quik , same colors he used but opposing your idea. white block will look good until you drive it , then it will get dirty and ugly . with engine parts that see dirt and grime dark colors work well but so do bright colors that pop. with an arrival blue truck id go with silver , black . or arrival blue to match . bright colors with arrival blue clash imo. Cramer
Here is my setup for now, and with some other parts I will be putting on. BLACK- Block, front timing cover, all pulleys, coil brackets, and black header wrap on the headers. BLUE- Top cover (middle only), coil packs, valve covers, Taylor wires, intake tube and airbox cover, water pump, alt / ps bracket, throttle body, and hose and wire coverings RED- Fuel rails, braided hose -AN fittings, optima battery. POLISHED- Coolant res cover, M/C cover, hard lines, and soon there will be alot of piping. To me it's not overly done. Nothing is polished that I can't get to easily, and everything that is black is like that to hide dirt and grime. IMO white is terrible on anything other than the body. My sister in law's ex bf has a SS and had the wheels, grill and ducts painted white... It looked like @$$, and he ended up painting them black a month later. hottelboy
I worry white will look dirty almost immediately, maybe ill just keep it black and clean up the covers and all.
