evandostert
I am going to be building a small sealed enclosure. I am only going to be able to fit a box under the passenger half of my back seat. My Nos bottle and soon to be purchased amp will be going on the other side. The speaker choices 1= kicker l5 8" with dual voice coils http://www.google.com/products/catalog?ds=pr&pq=kicker+l7&hl=en&cp=9&gs_id=11&xhr=t&q=kicker+l5&qe=a2lja2VyIGw1&qesig=r1yxFOCZQVLqkvRUc6HawQ&pkc=AFgZ2tkuOeTo7AhRoc-t7CyAw0Hs0-K_rrWC-vLiwLUh56rcyZoBs-E4fz3i7JBaWlImoB7uEA60LEIHG84m-X-AG2RxSGg8tg&safe=off&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1333&bih=671&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=17775714229157394392&sa=X&ei=icwYTpq6JY600AG51cyWBQ&sqi=2&ved=0CIgBEPMCMAQ 2=JL Audio 10WX-4 WX http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&safe=off&q=jl+10&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1333&bih=671&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=2937312148219638391&sa=X&ei=6cwYTpnkC8Xd0QGk7MGXBQ&ved=0CHcQ8wIwAQ 3=Alpine Type-R SWR-1042D http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=alpine+type+r+10&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=15217630567833081197&sa=X&ei=os0YTvvTIoGdgQffu_UO&ved=0CDcQ8wIwAg I am going for a box like this style although self built better quality http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-up-Chevy-Silverado-EXT-Sub-Box-Amp-Rack-Enclosure-/360344347519?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item53e632637f#ht_694wt_935 Edited July 9, 2011 by evandostert (see edit history)

kwaves11
its pretty much personal preference and whatever fits your budget. That being said im a kicker guy and love the way their subs sounds so I say solobaric. In the end its your call and your truck! good luck and post some pics when your done
SSplaytoy
A shallow mount 12" woofer will hit harder and you'll have a better bass range with a 12" woofer. Having more airspace behind the sub in a smaller space with a box tuned for it will be your best option IMO. It will cost a bit more, but worth it. I loved my kickers and they would quad. However, my friends silverado with 2 pioneer shallow mounts In a probox hits harder and sounds better than my setup did.
f1ss
in 2001 had 2 JL Audio w7s and PPI component speakers and won the regional competition. This thing could make someone break down and cry, it hit decibels that high. I was in the back next to the woofers turned up 3/5 volume and I came out crying like a baby. highvoltamps
Instead of the JL 10WX-4, go with the 10W6V2. Same sealed enclosure size at .625 cu.ft. and will hit a lot harder.
