Msd Wire Issue

Recommended Posts

i changed to msd plug wires and i put the factory metal covers on the ends that go on the spark plugs. well when there on they are real close to the manifold and sometimes touch and i get a small miss at idle and low rpms. are these cover required? are the msd wires high temp enough to not use them, and if i dont will i have to worry about melting on on like a long road trip or something? any advice will be greatlly appreciated. i know alot of people on here are super smart with engine issues like this so i hope someone can help. thanks

It is better to run them without the covers. The MSD wire end are made to bend so you can clear many different types of manifolds/headers. Take them off and clip them back onto the plug and bend the end so it is not touching the manifold....problem solved.
