shadow308 Posted October 16, 2011 Report Share Posted October 16, 2011 In shifting either between 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd, the engine will sometimes race and I have to let off on the gas for the trans. to engage (auto tran). Its a 2003 Silverado 1500 SS with about 118,000 miles. The truck is clean doesnt seem to have been abused, Im the 3rd owner. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Cramer Posted October 16, 2011 Report Share Posted October 16, 2011 Sounds like it is slipping. Prob some burnt clutches and needs a rebuild. Is the transmission fluid changed out regularly? Is the fluid level perfect when hot?
