slickster
First, lets just get this out in the open that my truck is completely stock. Nothing has been modified. Yet... It IS my daily driver. For my 06 Intimidator, I am looking at buying these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-NEW-22x10-Chevrolet-Silverado-SS-Wheels-Matte-Blk-OE-/290583389507?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item43a81ea543#ht_1001wt_968 I want to put a 305/40/22 tire on them and throw on a Belltech 2/4 drop kit consisting of shackles and spindles. My question is: is this all I'll need to ride just fine? I've noticed people talking about C-notches, and rubbing during turning, among other things. I only want to bring the truck down a little bit, and have some nice looking black wheels. I love the stock wheels, and going up to 22" is cool, too. So is there anything I'll need to worry about, or should I be good?
T-Bag
You'll be good, you've done your research and chosen the right combo. I do have a c-notch but it isn't necessary. If you want it to ride better than stock get some Belltech Street Perf. shocks in all 4 corners, finish that up with a quality allignment and you're good to go. You might rub once and awhile only over bumps if you hit them too hard. Edited October 20, 2011 by Bad Ass Silvy (see edit history)
silverado777
I would do it. Go with 305/40/22 in the back and go with like a 275/45/22 in the front so you dont worry about rubbing.
Guest Jason*
I would upgrade shocks as well. I dropped mine and then added shocks, and shocks improved the ride a ton. I used Belltech's Street Performance BTW. Oh and those wheels on a ISS will look pretty cool man. You shouldn't have any rubbing issues with a modest drop like the 2/4 I think. Although i'm not positive...
chris B
I am running 285/40/22 with spindles and there is no rubbing. i test fit some 305s and it was really close to rubbing i would suggest 285 to be safe but thats just my opinion .. ThatTallCanadian
That size should be pretty good. I run 315/35/r24 all around and I still hardly rub, only a little at full lock turn, but I am still stock height.
Ruben525
I would go with 45's. I had 40's on my SS 22's and my truck is lowered 3/4 I didn't like it at all. Tires were to small and the gap was way to big.

slickster
Are you selling your stock wheels? I will probably keep them and put some winter tires on them. I'm not sure yet, though. If I decide to sell them, you will be the first to know One more question I had, in regards to the lowering kit: When lowering the front, which is a better option? Spindles or springs? Spindles or drop torsion keys. Our trucks don't have springs. Spindles will get you 2" Drop Torsion keys will get you around 1-2" Rear Shackles will get you 2" in the rear Adding drop hangers to the rear will bring it down another 2" = 4" rear drop Edited October 24, 2011 by Bad Ass Silvy (see edit history)

Thanks for the info. I was confused looking at the Belltech kits on their website. It's not laid out very good, in my opinion. I was looking at this kit: http://belltech-store.com/main-cat-store-2/suspension-lowering-kit/lowering-kit/lowering-kit-99-06-silverado-sierra-ext-ca-2-3-f-4-r-w-sp-shocks.html That's where the initial question about springs vs spindles came in. You can see where I got mixed up So, I started Google searching the different parts that I wanted to piece together myself. I ended up going to Summit Racing and throwing all the parts into the cart to see the final price. I'd like someone to check my work and make sure I have the right parts; to be sure they're compatible. $730 shipped in the end. Not bad, I suppose. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm all ears. Err... eyes, I guess. Shackles/Hangars: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BEL-6514/ Spindles: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BEL-2508/ Rear SP Shocks: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BEL-2212FF/ Front SP Shocks: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BEL-10104I/ Thanks for all the help so far. This forum has some awesome people.
T-Bag
Belltech kit looks right to me but the shocks don't. It's 1pm here, let me get home tonight and get you the part #'s off my Belltech shocks off the boxes. Here is a link to the correct ones. http://tbssowners.co...od&productId=82 Tony doesn't have the part #'s listed either but you could try PM'ing. NORCAL SS on here. slickster
Wow, that website is just what I needed. He has everything there that I was looking for. The lowering kit has the spindles/shackles/hangars that I need, and it's about the same price in the end. And I'll support someone that helps out the SSS community before I support a mass product vendor. Thanks!
