T-Bag
Any feedback on Costco gas? I've been running it in my DD and seems to run great/same as always. I've always been a Chevron guy but am considering filling the VHO with some Costco. I know there are numerous threads on gas on here but I can't remember one about Costco gas. Anyone know how it compares to name brands? Any loss/gains of mpg or performance?
SStuze
I work at the Costco here in Sudbury and we're getting a gas station in the spring. I know its about 7-8 cents cheaper then the competition but was also wondering how it compares to the big name brands. I've filled up a few times on the way back from Toronto and havent really noticed a change in performance the truck still runs as well as i expected but i guess the only way to really know is to run logs on the truck using different "brands" and see what the computer says. wishminewasanss
Well if I can remember correctly, Justin @ BB told me when he tuned my truck for the first time. He said costco gas is good, nothing bad about it. any gas is good, as long as is not arco, thrifty gas, or any cheap/sketchy independent gas stations. I say go for it aaron. ThatTallCanadian
costco buys their gas from whatever supplier is cheapest at the time. So I dunno, I would never run it, I would rather stick to name brands i've been using since i know what i'm getting for sure. For a DD tho **** it, good enough imo. Hankg42
If you save .08 cents a gallon, on 25 gallons that's $2 bucks. I don't know if the gamble would be worth it for me. I'd rather stick with someting I know, for me that's mainly Sunoco.
diggerdan11
Chevron or Shell only for me. I have never filled up at a costco because the lines are always so damn long.

silverado_ss_04
i would never run their gas in my truck, but if its in a stock vehicle i dont see a problem.
chpspecial
All gasoline comes from the same refinery... and all gasoline is the same at the same ethanol content and the same octane rating, it doesn't matter who sells it... The difference comes when detergents are added. Each distributor has their own detergents that they add. Chevron uses techron, shell nitrogen enriched and so on.... cheaper brands don't use detergents to afford the lower prices. Not sure what costco uses, or if they even have detergents in their gasoline. I'm a fan of techron...
