Blown 346
I was also wondering the easiest way to wire it so that I can play movies while driving! thanks You can override the brake switch wire from the headunit to a switch you install. Flip the switch and you fool the headunit thinking the vehicle is in park. you flip it again and the dvd will shut off.
SilvSSguy
ok so the ground on the switch goes obviously goes to a ground, but where would the load and power wire go to?? and what would you think about:
paulguy
The relay for e-brake works good. Done it many times. The steering wheel interface wire is under the steering column light green.

SilvSSguy
and what wire/where did you run the switch power wire for the steering wheel adapter?
paulguy
Switched power comes from the acc wire on the adapter harness. The relay is a standard bosch relay. 85 to amp turn on blue/white 86 and 87 to ground 30 to the e-brake input wire - lt green
SilvSSguy
soo apparently the auto parts stores around here don't carry a bosch relay, any other brands or a part number that would work? In town there is an O'reily auto parts, napa auto parts, and arnold motor supply, there is an advanced auto parts close but they didn't have it either if that helps
2001silverado364
A relay is a relay, look near the horns. Our autoparts around here carry fiamm relays. Just look for something that looks like this. A four pin will do just fine. If you can't find one, just go to the counter and ask for a universal relay. SilvSSguy
another thing, im not seeing a blue wire for remote on the gm boss harness, I have a blue one for power antenna but thats it ****** Edited December 18, 2011 by SilvSSguy (see edit history)
2001silverado364
You need to use the remote/power antenna output coming out of the pioneer, shouldn't have anything to do with the gm harness.
