super88
we gutted my bros 454 ss that he just purchased.. I took out all the extra wiring for the sound system and the sorry alarm it had.. The truck will turn on with a jump then die after 5-7 minutes. We bought a new batter Optima, then it conitnued to happend so we bought a new alternator and we also had the ingition module checked. We can not figure out why it wont stay on.. The guy who had the truck before was using audio power cables for the regualr wires that run to the battery?????, could that be it. Also the battery gage inside does not read anything...Any ideas
Blown 346
I would check to see that your getting proper voltage as thru the battery cables, and then check the grounds. How does the distributor cap, rotor look? If you dont know when they were replced last I would do it now.
Miller812
Did you take the whole alarm out?. Also when you took it out did you reconnect the starter wire? On a usual alarm you cut the starter wire and there is an input and output wire on the brain of the alarm system. Sent From My GNex
super88
yeah all the wiring is good... I dont know much but I think it may have to do with them using audio power cables instead of regular battery cables.
