Krambo
Very nice! I would love to see what an open exhaust does for power!
prestinb
Very nice! I would love to see what an open exhaust does for power! I agree...I still have the 1 3/4 Dynatech headers, off-road mid pipes, and a Corsa Sport Cat-back. I would really like to get a set 1 7/8 ARH headers to see the difference they make... Also...my wheel/tire combo is super heavy so I am sure that is not helping much either... prestinb (Brandon)
shadowsniper3006
any updates on this build? Parts added, dyno runs, track times? Great build a lot of the new members can see what HP they can expect from a NA build of this type.

Great build a lot of the new members can see what HP they can expect from a NA build of this type. shadowsniper3006, I have changed a few things but still don't have any track times yet...still working out the tuning. I swapped the 1 3/4" Dynatech headers to 1 7/8" ARH headers with 3" collectors. I also am running a custom made 3" true dual exhaust with X-pipe. The truck now has a great muscle car sound vs the banshee scream of the Corsa Sport exhaust. Once the tune is complete, I will post some numbers. For now...enjoy the sound of a fine stock cube N/A build. http://s438.photobucket.com/user/prestinb1000/media/2006%20GMC%20Sierra%20VMAX/979A2098-4A66-4312-92FB-0E00AD95B8C7.mp4.html prestinb (Brandon) Edited July 29, 2013 by prestinb (see edit history)
silverado777
Sounds sweet! I was really wanting to swap to the 1 7/8" but couldn't justify the cost.
shadowsniper3006
Keep us updated bud, a lot of members can learn from your build and the numbers and ET's it puts down
shadowsniper3006
Brandon, Still very much anticipating the results you get. Very awesome build and lots of info for guys to base their motors on
prestinb
shadowsniper3006, If it would ever stop raining around here I might be able to get to the track. I feel that my tune is finally complete after ~36 revisions. Zippy is thorough to say the least. The truck is night and day compared to the MAF tune I was running. I honestly believe that the final dyno charts I posted are not even close compared to my seat dyno now... prestinb (Brandon)
shadowsniper3006
Awesome man! Can't wait to see some track times and maybe some new dyno runs. Keep us up to date Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

prestinb
Finally made it to the track last night for a few runs. I did zero track prep and left the truck in daily driver attire...basically the worst case possible due to wheel/tire combo. So what did I learn... 1. Street tires suck...almost lost it around half track on the 1st run. 2. I like to take naps at the lights. 3. 2wd trucks make it difficult to hook. Other than that...it was fun but perhaps a little track prep would go a long way. I didn't get video of the 1st run...just a timeslip. The two videos correspond to the 2nd and 3rd runs respectively. prestinb
Just for reference...I just swapped out my set of 3" Center In/Out Flowmaster Super 40s for a set of 3" Center In/Out Spintech Pro-Street # 6441. Here is a clip from my buddy's windows who was pacing me from a stop light going around the corner. He has a Duramax so there was no mixing of exhaust sounds http://s438.photobucket.com/user/prestinb1000/media/2006%20GMC%20Sierra%20VMAX/Spintech.mp4.html prestinb (Brandon) Edited July 29, 2013 by prestinb (see edit history)
