Kicker L5'S

Recommended Posts

post-24090-039806800 1334849722_thumb.jpgproud new owner of an 03' silverado SS, as well as a new member to the forum. i recently had a ranger that i had my 2 square 12" kickers, how can i get them to fit in the back of my silverado? My quest has just begun and i have only asked one audio retailer and he said that if i were to put my speakers in my truck i would have to get a large box. however i don't want to compromise any aditional seating, i raised my concern to the guy and he said if i were to get a box that would fit under the back seat it would sound like garbage. i havent done much searching online but i have only been able to find sub boxes for circular subs. my origional idea was to buy a circular box and just cut it out to fit my speakers. ive also had the idea of building one from scratch, but last time i did that structurally it was a really nice box but the fabric i used didnt look so hot around the edges. does any one have any advice or suggestions?

Those L5s need some room to breathe. You in no way are going to be able to put those in your truck without sacrificing seating or they are going to sound like crap. :(

You can make the Extended Cab back seat into two individual bucket seats and put the box in between or take out the whole back seat.

Im glad you mentioned this. Ive actually been researching how to make two rear seperate seats but my searches come back negative. Any more info on this??? How would it be done? Has it been done? Do you know of any pictures of it done?

You have to cut the rear seat in half and weld it back together, and then get it recovered. There's a how to somewhere, if I find I'll post it up.

Thanks dude. Thats exactly what I want to do. Hopefully you can find that how to cause I cant find one anyplace on the web.

I have a high tolerance for things, but I think that's alittle too tacky.

I've been wanting to get a good amount of bass in the ss too. Was thinking about raising the rear seat for a pair of good subs, or maybe leave the seat stock height and one good sub with enough airspace but idk about trusting just one sub on it's own lol.

I don't wanna cut the bed to put subs in the bed.
