GI.SS
As title reads .... Reason code is thrown? Best way on resolving this?
Fireman31
Common problem, the Vent Solenoid Valve needs to be replaced, GM has a bulletin out about it.......they also have you relocate the vent tube from the filler neck up to the transmission tunnel using 5/8 heater hose.... cb2big4u
^^ What he said. I have the same code been up for a year and havent wanted to fix it. Heard it was a big PITA unless you remove your bed.
Fireman31
You do not have to remove the bed, everything is accessable from underneath.....
cb2big4u
Word. I know the bed is not "needed" to be removed. Heard it saves some frustration. Just going off of past reading. This is on the filler neck or something like that?
GI.SS
is there a link to this bulletin or a sticky or something of the sort?
WantaSSS
Not bad to do. You can do it fairly easily without removing the bed. They have you re route the vent so it doesnt get water dirt in it and block the vent. My original got water in it and cracked the canister. sleepingcrna
Google search the topic as related to a silverado. There are a few good YouTube vids that show how easy it is. There's one that runs you step by step. Hard to screw up.
