2006SilverSS
Hey Guys, I've been in Austin, TX the last 8 weeks now for work, and will probably be here for a while still, so is anyone from the area that can suggest things to do and places to eat? Thanks, Daryl
EVSSS
Juan in a million for Mexican, and the salt lick for barbecue...both of these were on man vs food and are really good.

2006SilverSS
Thanks guys, anywhere else that's pretty cool? I'll be here at least the next 3 weeks probably
Stitches040
Is the Salt Lick the place, where the BBQ pit is in the middle of the Restaurant? Secondly ... isn't that place that has the 72 oz steak challenge (with salad, shrimp cocktail, baked potatoe and roll) in the Austin area? Thirdly ... I've only been to San Antonio, so I have no other suggestions for you. But I hear there are tons of walking/Bike trails and such. Also a good Music scene ... (But I'm assuming, that you'll have to be pre-disposed to Country Music) ... LOL ...
03_SS_22
The place with the 72 ounce steak is in Amarillo I think
2006SilverSS
I went to the Salk Lick and wasn't all that impressed to be honest... there was another BBQ place, Kreuz Market, in Lockhart which was much much better than Salt Lick in my opinion. Tried Juan in a Million last week and it was pretty good. Didn't realize it was only open for lunch really the first time we tried to go there for dinner, haha. MARTYW
I always wanted to go to Stevie Ray Vaughan's grave. It is there in Austin some where. Hopefully close to a good place to eat!
