wody Posted July 2, 2012 Report Share Posted July 2, 2012 bad news bears, dude. sounds like your a/c compressor is done for. this is a very common issue. if you just replace the belt and tensioner, it will continue to rattle because the compressor is actually locking that belt up. pull the belt off and try to turn the compressor by hand. Muggs Posted July 3, 2012 Report Share Posted July 3, 2012 Pull the belt, check thecompressor and tensioner by hand for to tight (not wanting to turn) or to loose (able to move up, down, sideways, worn out) find the one or both not right and replace it, and yes put a new belt back on when you fix it.
