brettcouse
Hey im guys im new to this site and not sure where this should go so i apologize. anyways i have a 99 gmc sierra 1500 with the 4.8. Just recently it has started to back fire during hard acceleration. and sometimes spits and spudders during take off. what could be the problem? i have a hand held programmer with a cia and exhaust on my truck. it originally did something like this when my maf sensor shit the bed. could it have done so already? i changed the fuel filter thinking that was the problem but no luck. thanks again Brett

canadianVRss
Clean the gunk from the throttlebody blade and inside the intake. This ^^^ Then sea foam it.
Thatdavidkid
Check the fuel pressure before you rule out the pump.
cb2big4u
This ^^^ Then sea foam it. x2 on the seafoam. 1-2 bottles of reg seafoam in a full tank of gas will clean out the whole fuel system. Could always flop some seafoam deep creep in the intake manifold through the throttle body just to clean gunk from that also.
