GI.SS
iv seen the kits that relocate the coils to the firewall, most common on f-body's. it doesnt look very good on our trucks tho.. IMO but hiding them behind the heads or back side of the intake manifold would look best. iv also seen guys fab their own and mount them to the frame rail or even the inner fenders. Just remember to mount your coils rigid as heavy vibration isnt good for them...

ThatTallCanadian
I like the idea. This may be a retarded question, but does the longer plug wires affect anything? As I would think there'd be a slight "delay" on how long the firing signal takes to travel through?
The_aSSet
Yes there will be a very slight delay I would think but you may not even notice it. retarding timing is safer than advancing it so you certainly wouldn't be hurting anything. Again all theory

detjoe
One of the turbo builder mounts them below the exhaust manifold, kind of low...but heat rises and he say they do fine there. Just another idea, pic is floating around....

kissfans03ss
I found a pic of a custom made coil bracket mounted under the header of an f-body but then u have to ask if they will get wet or if the header heat may kill them faster? kissfans03ss
Yeah I saw that episode mainly for the ls wagon, but I dont know if I really want more plastic under the hood.I yhink I would prefer some thing more custom rather than just masking the problem.
