rdavid0412
Ok I found a 4L80 for $200 from a friend of mine. The way I see it is I can take my time gathering parts to build it and gather the parts for doing a swap. My truck has over 100k on it and I'd rather over do it then wonder how I'm gonna get home. I do on occasion beat the snot out of my truck as well as some moderate towing. I Need some Input without all of the complaining and arguing on the last thread I read. I am pretty happy with most of the mods I already have and plan on adding a cam package, and throttle body for now. I apprciate the input in advance. How can I tell when the trans was produced as it its origin is unknown.
silverado777
I'm pretty sure that is a pre - 99 transmission. It will still work but from what I have heard is a more difficult swap. The 80s produced after 99 have the one cooler line towards back and one on the front.
rdavid0412
What all would make it harder to swap?
