15SilveradoSS Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 alright i know everyone hates handheld programmers.. but ha anyone heard anything good about the intune.. is it not different from other handhelds, and cant you custom tune with it? Quote
15SilveradoSS Posted October 9, 2012 Author Report Posted October 9, 2012 ya but with the intune it log and you can get a custom tune made from the data logs.. i know everyone says get a pcm tune.. but doesnt this programmer touch down on more parameters than other handhelds Quote
15SilveradoSS Posted October 9, 2012 Author Report Posted October 9, 2012 if anyone i interested in learning more about the intune.. http://customgm.com/f81/diablosport-intune-trinity-custom-tuning-information-available-1664.html Quote
The_aSSet Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Well for one its $400 and then you need to know what to change ontop of that which I assume you could pay someone to do which is the same thing as getting a custom pcm tune but more expensive for this diablo route. Hptuners and efilive have a crazy amount of parameters, and the tuner knows what he's doing so there's generally no worrying. And if you can get a live tune, that much better. Quote
JC03SS Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 ^^^This is true before I knew about the mail order tune I had a hypertech = crap. My tune from zippy is hands down better than the other. It was 395$ my tune from zippy was 350 with another PCM already programed. Quote
BLNAWAY Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 i got the diblosport and was happy with its basic setup but your not able to tune per mod u have like the_asset said u gota pay someone to data log to change peramiter but now im lookn to get pcm tune from zippy its alot easyier to set tunes to different mods you add on and more cost effective when its comes to updating Quote
super88 Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Custom Tune FTW.. re tunes for free anytime you add a mod! Quote
15SilveradoSS Posted October 10, 2012 Author Report Posted October 10, 2012 ok so when i want to retune from, say blackbear or zippy i have to mail my pcm back to the states ( i live in alberta) and wait for it to come back.. so would i not need my stock pcm incase i need my truck? Quote
The_aSSet Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 They send you a tuned/retuned pcm and you send your core back. I assume. so there's no downtime Quote
15SilveradoSS Posted October 10, 2012 Author Report Posted October 10, 2012 ok, im not trying to argue i just dont know! i also thought with the intune i would have a scan tool as well. Quote
The_aSSet Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 I understand, I had a programmer when I first started modding. Went with a custom tune and will never look back. I'd say if your mildly modded the most scanning you'd need to do is your AF ratio. Heavily modded guys have more to look out for. And at that point you'd just want to buy hptuners or efilive so you can really see everything and make adjustments accordingly if you have the knowledge to do so. This is all my opinion though. Quote
chpspecial Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 For that price you can do an EFILive AutoCal from any of the vendors here, which will do everything the diablo does plus more. Of for a few dollars more, you can buy EFIlive/HPTuners and either learn to tune, or get email support from any of the vendors here. Stay with the tried and true unless you feel comfortable experimenting with the new kid. Plus I don't think that guy has much cam/FI experience. Its all basic bolt ons. Quote
