So have you actually felt the floor board? And I'm pretty sure there is the one pipe from the left manifold that runs near the front of your floor board. Your driver's side cat is in that general vicinity if memory serves right from the last time I was under my SS.....a red hot fouled cat would definitely transmit into the floor I would think.....
