essess
My brake pedal has started making brief squeak each time tafter he pedal is depressed and released back up. The brakes are working fine, but it's starting to get annoying. Any solutions?
1BAD2K
My 06 ss did the same thing. I can't remember exactly what is was though. Just do some googling and you'll find something to lube. It might've been the shaft that goes through the firewall into the brake booster.
essess
Thanks.....I guess I can always get out the WD-40. lol
1BAD2K
Yeah if I recall its something about a brass or bronze busing that the shaft goes through wearing out and the booster actually needs to be replaced at that point. I lined it and didn't have a problem though.
Blown 346
There is a little bushing behind the pedal. If you get down there and look behind the pedal and push with your hand you will see where the noise is coming from. WD 40 will only work for a short time as it will wear away. I either use lithium grease or Duponts Teflon Lube. It comes in a blue can and can be bougth at Lowes for $5. It wont wear off and repels dirt and moisture for good. I did mine last year and still no noise.
MARTYW
X2. I used white lithium grease and it has worked for a while.
