knock sensor low voltage

Just got my truck delivered... And what a MOTHER F*CKER it's been to get it :banghead: ...

That's another story for another time... Well upon shipment of my truck it had the check

engine light on... Checked it out today. It's the "knock sensor 2 low voltage"

Any ideas on why this would be in? Just a little back story if it helps... From the dealer to the

shipping company it had about 350 extra miles on it... Everything was functioning fine.

No check engine light, speedometer worked etc. So I'm assuming someone at the shipping

company took my truck for a joy ride. Thanks in advance for the help.

i had that same thing on my 02 1500 5.3L and it happend after i washed the engine bay. i had replaced the sensor you have to take the intake manifold off and they are in the valley i assume thats its the same on the 6.0. havent had to take it apart yet. If i recall the sensor isnt that much. just becareful when you take the old on out i broke the stud and the clip n the old one when i took it out.

Ya that's what I'm currently in the process of doing. Of course supervisor is out till Monday.

But any particular reason why it would come in? Maybe cuz who ever drove it ragged the f*ck

out of the truck?

The knock sensor closest to the firewall is either junk or a wire is pinched/broken. If the dealership cleaned the engine bay before delivery, they could have soaked the valley cover and pooled water in the sensor port...common issue.

  • 3 weeks later...

I got the same thing going on hope they both come out without any problems and don't forget to do the wireing harness I've been told they get beat up from the heat so I might use some exhaust wrap to help protect the harness from the heat

:withstupid:

I'd replace BOTH knock sensors & the GM wiring harness, while your under that intake. Also, be sure and use dielectric grease on ALL the connections. The harness isn't too costly either- DO IT.
